I trotted downtown yesterday in the mini despite the NYC gridlock alert warnings to see my once near-neighbor in South Salem, Campbell Scott, in Ronan Noone's The Atheist. To my surprise, the play was in weekly rotation. Next Wednesday I should return, said the kind and patient woman at the box office. So there went my perfect on-street parking spot on W. 4th. There went my chance to see The Atheist which ends on Jan. 4th.
And when I returned home, I returned to a message on my voice mail, rescinding the job offer I received on Monday. A new job on Monday. A downsize on Thursday. I guess there isn't a God.
Here is a podcast of Campbell on the Lennie Lopate Show WNYC-FM December 17, 2008. That's Lennie later, not Brian before.
